1. Introduction
TrainrAI is a fitness and wellness coaching app provided by SimQuant LLC (“SimQuant,” “we,” “us” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the TrainrAI app (“App”).
TrainrAI is designed to respect your privacy by keeping sensitive health data within Apple’s Health app and HealthKit store where possible, and by limiting what we send to third‑party services. This Policy should be read together with the TrainrAI Supplemental Terms of Service.
2. Data We Collect
TrainrAI primarily works with data that you explicitly authorize or provide. The data we work with falls into these categories:
2.1 Apple Health / HealthKit Data (Read‑Only)
When you connect TrainrAI to Apple Health, you choose which categories to share with the App (for example, heart rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate, VO₂Max, sleep metrics, steps and energy). TrainrAI only reads HealthKit data for categories that you explicitly authorize via Apple’s permission dialogs.
Sensitive health data from HealthKit is not stored in TrainrAI’s own on‑device database or in TrainrAI’s iCloud container. It remains in Apple’s Health app and HealthKit store, which are separate from the TrainrAI app and managed by Apple.
2.2 iCloud‑Synced App Data (Non‑Health)
To keep your experience consistent across your devices, TrainrAI may store certain non‑health data in your private iCloud account via Apple’s CloudKit and SwiftData. This data is associated with your Apple ID and stored in an iCloud container that only you (and Apple, as your cloud provider) can access.
The types of non‑health data that may sync to your iCloud include:
- GoalSet — your fitness goals and objectives;
- WorkoutPlan — generated workout plans;
- PlanDay — daily workout schedules;
- Workout — individual workout details;
- Exercise — exercise definitions;
- ExerciseSet — set/rep configurations;
- Completion — workout completion tracking;
- LineCompletion — exercise‑level completion;
- ActivityLink — links to associated HealthKit workouts;
- EditAudit — edit history and provenance of your plans; and
- OnboardingData — data you provide during initial setup (such as experience level or preferences).
You can disable iCloud syncing for TrainrAI at any time in iOS Settings by turning off iCloud access for the App.
2.3 Usage, Diagnostics & Device Information
We may receive limited non‑identifying technical information to help us keep the App secure and running properly, such as:
- basic device information (device model, operating system version);
- app version and configuration; and
- crash reports and diagnostic logs (for example, via Apple’s crash reporting tools).
Where possible, this information is aggregated or de‑identified and is used only to improve stability, performance and user experience.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your information to:
- calculate readiness, recovery, trend summaries and other dashboards based on the Apple Health data you authorize;
- generate and update workout plans, daily sessions and related coaching content;
- sync your plans, preferences and completion history across your devices via your private iCloud account;
- provide optional AI‑powered training insights and answers when you use Chat or other AI Features; and
- maintain and improve the App, including security, performance and troubleshooting.
4. AI Features & Third‑Party Processing
TrainrAI offers optional AI‑powered features (such as Chat) that generate natural‑language outputs based on a compact view of your training data and the questions you ask.
4.1 What We Send to OpenAI via Cloudflare
If you enable and use Chat or other AI Features, the App may send:
- a compact dashboard context (for example, readiness scores and component rows derived from your authorized Apple Health data); and
- your question or prompt, including any text you choose to type.
This content is sent to OpenAI’s API via a Cloudflare Worker proxy solely to generate a response for you. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections.
4.2 Data Use by OpenAI & Cloudflare
According to OpenAI’s current policies, API data is not used to train OpenAI models by default. Certain limited abuse‑monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days. Cloudflare may retain transient edge logs as described in its own privacy policy.
For more information, please see:
4.3 Your Choices & Responsibilities for AI Features
You are not required to use AI Features. If you prefer that your compact dashboard context and prompts not be sent to OpenAI, you can simply avoid using Chat or disable any AI Features in the App as they become configurable.
To reduce privacy risks, you should avoid including directly identifying information (such as your full name, address, phone number, email address or insurance/member numbers) in free‑text prompts. You are responsible for reviewing and removing any such information before sending prompts.
5. How We Share Data
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share your health data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We may share information in the following limited situations:
- With service providers. We use trusted providers such as Apple (for HealthKit, iCloud/CloudKit and crash reporting), OpenAI and Cloudflare (for AI infrastructure) to operate the App. These providers process data only on our behalf and under contractual safeguards.
- For legal or safety reasons. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property or safety of SimQuant, our users or others.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, we may transfer information in connection with that transaction, subject to applicable laws.
6. Data Security & Retention
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information processed by the App. These include leveraging Apple’s built‑in protections for HealthKit and iCloud, using encrypted connections for network requests and limiting what data we send to third‑party services.
We retain non‑health app data (such as iCloud‑synced plan data) for as long as needed to provide the App and as long as it remains in your iCloud account, unless you delete it or disable iCloud for TrainrAI. Any logs retained by third‑party providers (such as OpenAI or Cloudflare) are kept according to their own retention policies as described in their documentation.
7. Your Rights & Controls
Your health and fitness information remains under your control in Apple Health and your iCloud account. In particular, you can:
- manage and revoke TrainrAI’s access to HealthKit categories at any time in the Health app settings;
- turn iCloud syncing for TrainrAI on or off in iOS Settings;
- delete specific items (such as goals or plans) from within the App where such controls are provided;
- erase non‑health workout data stored by TrainrAI (for example, plans and completions) by using the in‑app menu option such as “Erase all my workouts”; and
- delete the App entirely, which removes its local data on that device (but does not delete your data from Apple Health or iCloud).
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local data protection laws (for example, rights of access, correction or deletion). You can contact us using the details below if you wish to exercise such rights, and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.
8. Children’s Privacy
TrainrAI is not intended for children under the age of 16 or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under this age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data in violation of this Policy, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our practices or legal requirements change. When we make material changes, we will provide notice as required by law, for example by updating the “Effective date” above, providing an in‑app notice or sending you a message.
Your continued use of TrainrAI after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy. If you do not agree with the changes, you should discontinue use of the App and uninstall it.
